High Prairie Farms Flushing Spaniels, LLC offers private training and field trial handling classes and seminars. We strive to offer you the best opportunity to have the premiere “Gentleman’s Companion” or the dog that has the “Competitive Edge.”

Classes may be arranged on a daily or weekly basis at our home facility. In private classes, students observe and participate in my daily training sessions. You will watch dogs at all levels of training and experience being run and worked in their regular field training sessions. You can then run and work your personal dog under my watchful eyes as a professional trainer.I develop and work with a curriculum personally suited to the needs of you and your dog.

Curriculums cover all aspects of properly training spaniels through development of their natural talents. These classes can cover many aspects of spaniel competition, hunting, training, field trial and hunt test handling. The broad spectrum of training includes: beginning retrieving, introduction to the field, teaching range, control and steadying to wing and shot. For the competitive spaniel enthusiast, instruction can cover lessons in showmanship and handling to win, learning the details of wind patterns or training basics to get you to the “blue ribbon” level in competition or qualifying scores in hunt tests.

Whether I work with hunters or field trial handlers, my instruction places an emphasis on fully understanding proper wind patterns and how wind and cover affect a dog’s performance in the field. Focus is on enhancing the natural talents of the dog, combined with learning small “tricks of the trade.”These “tricks” help perfect your dog’s performance, adding the finer details while helping you become an outstanding field trial handler or making you a more knowledgeable hunter in the upland fields. Each session places an emphasis on your individual needs and those of your dog.

High Prairie Farms Flushing Spaniels offers group seminars for training clubs or interested parties wishing to set up classes at their own venues. I can easily travel to your location to offer classes and instruction in your area. The main focus of this curriculum is based on my system of developing the dog’s natural talents. These sessions, much like private classes at our facility, still focus and develop individual curriculums for each student and their dog. The only difference is that each dog will be worked with the core class observing to broaden the learning opportunities of the entire group. Pricing for group seminars is dependent on attendance and location.

Personalized, one on one, daily sessions include participating as a spectator with question/answer interaction during my normal field training routine (usually running 2½ to 3 hours in length). You will have two personally customized runs for you and your dog with direct focus and interaction on you and your dog’s needs. The pricing for these personalized sessions is $75.00 per dog, per session. Bird costs will be in addition to each training session or package price. Bird prices vary upon species and seasonal costs. Week and group session prices are available upon request.

If you would like that individual attention in a gundog or field trial dog training school, please contact me for further details.

Perfection is our goal!
